Kathmandu. Nepal defeated Bahrain by 10 wickets in the ICC Women’s T-20 World Cup Asia Qualifier.
Nepal found the target of 32 runs given by Bahrain in 2.5 overs at the Kuala Lumpur Cricket Ground in Malaysia. Nepal’s opener Kavita Kunwar scored 17 runs and Sita Ranamar remained 2 runs not out. Nepal got 13 extra runs. After Bahrain won the toss and elected to bat, Nepal bowled.
Bahrain’s batting could not work against Nepal’s bowlers. Apart from Bahrain captain Deepika Rasangika scoring 11 runs, no other batsman could reach double figures. Indu Verma took three wickets, Khushi Dangol took two wickets, Kavita Kunwar, Pooja Mahato, Raveena Chhetri Belwasi took one and one wicket each to cover Bahrain cheaply.
In the first match, the Nepali team won a thrilling 5-run victory against the home team, Malaysia, and today they won their second consecutive victory. There are 6 teams in Nepal’s group in the tournament consisting of 11 teams. Only the top two from Group A will advance to the semi-finals.
